Crime Prevention and Safety
Grandview Neighbors on Watch (N.O.W.):
The Neighbors on Watch (N.O.W) program was created to help keep
Phoenix neighborhoods safe by partnering residents with police. It works
when neighbors:
Deter, delay, and detect crime
Stay alert to unusual activity
Report suspicious behavior right away
See Something. Say Something.

Crime Prevention Starts with Neighbors:
Busy streets and strong neighbor connections help keep our community safe. In Grandview, one of the ways we build these connections is through Front Yard Fridays
- held the third Friday of each month, 6 -9 pm.
Neighbors casually gather, bringing their own drinks and stopping by as they are able.

Block Watch Grant
The Neighborhood Block Watch Grant Program (NBWGP) is a City of Phoenix initiative that provides funding to community groups to enhance neighborhood safety, reduce crime, and improve quality of life through block watch and community engagement projects. Every year, Grandview applies for the grant to continue to be able to provide safety items such as motion sensor lights, dog leash lights, and benches, along with events such as Winterfest and Front Yard Fridays.
For safety resources for your home, reach out to the Grandview Neighborhood Association at mygrandviewphx@gmail.com or be sure to come to neighborhood events.
Benches
Grandview neighbors can get grant-funded benches for their front yards.
Have a Little Free Library? A bench to go with it could be a great fit!
Lights
Extra lighting - like motion-sensor lights, or lights for strollers and dog leashes - help prevent crime and boost safety. Thanks to the Block Watch Grant, Grandview has additional lighting available to Grandview neighbors at no cost to you.
Front Yard Friday
Front Yard Fridays are typically each month from October through May, hosted by neighbors throughout Grandview. It’s a chance to gather, meet, and connect.
